Climate Change

We are supporting The Big Ask, Friends of the Earth's nationwide campaign, to persuade Government to adopt the Climate Change Bill to tackle our CO2 emissions year on year. We will be holding stalls, displaying information, canvassing local opinion and showing how members of the public can help this vital movement. After a very successful Climate Change stall in Sheerness we are holding a free screening of the documentary An Inconvenient Truth on 11th November 2007. Details on the news page.

Canterbury incinerator 

Ridham incinerator

Swale and Canterbury FoE groups collaborated with other local groups in successful campaigns against these incinerators.

No Airport at Cliffe

Swale, Medway and Canterbury FoE groups assisted in the campaign to ensure no airport at Cliffe. Details can be found on the RSPB web site.

Doddington mobile phone mast

Friends of the Earth successfully campaigned against this rural phone mast in the village of Doddington on the grounds that it was planned for an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and because of the health worries about the levels of radiation produced by the mast
